POST/bases/rows/update

Update a base row's cells

Updates a row's cells in a base, writing only the properties included in cells. Omitted properties keep their current values, and a cell set to null is cleared; computed properties are ignored and writes to properties with a type conversion in progress are rejected.

  • IdempotentThe SDK sends Idempotency-Key, so a retried request is only applied once.

4 body fields

The base row and map of cell values to write. Supply rowId, pageId, and cells; omitted cell keys are left unchanged.

cellsobjectrequired
Map of property id to cell value. Keys must be ids of properties on this base; an unknown key fails the write with 400.
pageIdstringrequired
Id of the base. A base *is* a page, so this is the base's page id - the same id you would pass to the page endpoints.
positionstringoptional
The fractional index that places the row among its neighbours.
rowIdstringrequired
The UUID of the row to update.

4 status codes

Error handling

A 400 is returned when a cell value is invalid, a property ID is unknown, or a property is undergoing type conversion. A 403 is returned when access is forbidden or bases are not included in the current licence, and a 404 is returned when the base or row is not found. rowId, pageId, and cells are required; cell keys must be property IDs on the base, matching the format prp followed by 9 lowercase alphanumeric characters.
